John Terry has slammed the state of modern day football as 'boring' as he admits he does not enjoy watching the contemporary game and named two former Chelsea team-mates who might struggle to make it today.
The retired central defender is a Chelsea legend after spending the majority of his playing career at the Stamford Bridge club.
Terry played a total of 717 times for Chelsea and scored 67 goals for the club between 1998 and 2017.
In that time, he won the Premier League five times, a quintet of FA Cup trophies, three League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League.

Terry ended his playing days with a season at Aston Villa in the Championship, while he also had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest away from Chelsea in the early phase of his career.
Terry was also a member of the so-called Golden Generation for England which had talent in abundance but was unable to deliver silverware on the international stage.
Terry scored six goals in 78 caps for the Three Lions before retiring from international duty in 2012.
Following Terry's Chelsea departure, Manchester City have gone on to dominate English football under Pep Guardiola, having won the Premier League six times since 2018.

But Terry has revealed he does not enjoy watching modern football anymore and believes the style of play where teams put all 11 players behind the ball and challenge opposition sides like City to break them down is 'boring'.
And he believes players like former Chelsea team-mates Joe Cole and Eden Hazard, who would 'get people off their seats' are becoming fewer and far between.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Terry said: "I don't enjoy watching football. Like where teams play vs Man City and you get 11 men behind the ball, it's boring.

"Man City try and break the other team down, it's really boring.
"You don't see many shots, you don't see people like Eden Hazard or Joe Cole getting people off their seats."
Cole spent seven seasons at Chelsea alongside Terry and scored 39 goals in 282 games for the club, winning three Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the League Cup, before moving to Liverpool in 2010.
Hazard joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012 and netted 110 goals in 352 games across seven seasons.

Hazard won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, League Cup, and a pair of Europa League crowns, before departing for Real Madrid in 2019 for a reported initial €100m transfer fee.
