How much Jhon Duran has earned in Saudi Pro League since Aston Villa move as Al Nassr consider exit

The Colombian striker joined Al Nassr in a deal worth a reported £64 million in January 2025.

The amount Jhon Duran has earned since his transfer from Aston Villa to Al Nassr is mind-blowing.

Duran, 21, started the 2024/25 campaign playing for Villa in the Premier League and even scored the winner in their 1-0 victory against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Colombian international netted seven Premier League goals this term before transferring to Al Nassr for a reported £64m in January.

Duran has since registered 12 goals in 18 appearances for the Saudi club and has been paid handsomely for his effort.

While he was at Villa, he pocketed around £75,000 per week or £3.9m per year, according to Capology, but his wage at Al Nassr increased significantly to around €392,500 (£334,272) gross per week, excluding bonuses.

Broken down, this is around £46,000 per day, £1,900 per hour and £31 per minute.

Speaking after his move, Duran insisted that money was not the reason he joined the club.

"Money doesn't move me," he told Al Nassr's TV channel. "I'm happy with this step.

"Many people speculate, but only my family, my agent and I know the reasons behind my decision.

"It's not a step back, the league is competitive with many stars. People who think otherwise should watch me play on the field.

"I am thrilled to learn from the best football star in the world [Ronaldo]. I'm looking forward to growing alongside him."

So, how much has he earned during his short stint in the Middle East?

Duran has been at the club for 18 weeks, so as an estimate, he may have earned around £6.3m.

And if he were to earn this amount in the UK, he would see a huge amount deducted through tax, national insurance and potentially other deductions.

But, according to PWC, “Income tax is not imposed on an individual's earnings if they are derived only from employment in Saudi Arabia”.

Despite this, Duran is still linked with a potential move away from the club, with Al-Riyadh claiming that “sources explained that the player may go on loan due to the difficulties he is facing on a personal level, which have affected his mental state and technical stability. They pointed out that there are clubs that have expressed a willingness to loan him out”.
