Mikel Arteta's income after signing an extension with Arsenal have been revealed, but how do they compare to his peers?

Arteta penned a new deal with the Gunners this week, agreeing to stay with the London club for another three-years.

The new contract saw the Spaniard get an increase to his previous income of £9million a season, rewarding him for turning Arsenal into title contenders during his time at the club.

But how much will Arteta earn and how do his wages compare to other managers in the league?

According to a report from The Sun, the 42-year-old is now set to earn £10m a year plus bonuses in his new contract.

However, despite his huge contract, Arteta remains far from being the league's top earner, as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reportedly earns double his former assistant with a huge £20m contract, according to The Daily Mail.

But, Arteta's new deal does put him as the second highest earning manager in the league, with Unai Emery, who Arteta replaced at Arsenal, in third with a £8m a season deal with new club Aston Villa.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag follows in fourth, earning £6.75m a season, after United's failure to qualify for the Champions League last season triggered a 25 per cent pay cut agreed in his contract.

Arne Slot completes the top five highest paid managers with a £6.2m salary at Anfield.

Perhaps the biggest surprise amongst the league's top earners is Everton manager Sean Dyche, who is paid £5m a season by the Toffees, placing him on par with Ange Postecoglu and above the likes of Eddie Howe, Enzo Maresca and Julen Lopetegui.

At the other end of the table, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is believed to be the league's lowest earner, pocketing £1m a season despite impressing during his time at the club.

Speaking after his new deal was announced, Arteta said: "I feel extremely proud, very excited and am looking forward to what is coming next. I'm proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club.

"I feel extremely lucky to work every single day with good people and the ambition we have here. I feel very inspired, I feel challenged, I feel supported and I want to do much more than what we've already done together."
