Jamie O'Hara has laughed at Arsene Wenger's claim that Arsenal will win the Premier League title next season following their business this summer.

After finishing behind Manchester City in the league last season, the Gunners have snapped up Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Declan Rice from West Ham United.

Not to mention Jurrien Timber from Ajax, with the club spending more than £200 million ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Former Arsenal manager Wenger has endorsed his old team's signings this summer and backed them to win the league title next season.

"I think it is a good investment," he said of Arsenal's new recruits. "Overall, personally I think they have made good buys as they are players who are now mature, 23, 24, but still young so can stay together for a few years."

The Frenchman added: "They will be under more pressure after last year, but they have learned a lot and they can show they can deal with that pressure now."

Asked for his prediction for the title next season, he replied: "I believe we will win the championship; it is as simple as that. I have less doubts for Arsenal than the cycling today."

Former Tottenham man O'Hara isn't convinced with Wenger's claim and is adamant Havertz will 'flop' following his £65 million switch to the Emirates.

"Let's not get carried away," he said on talkSPORT. "What Kai Havertz? He can’t even hit a barn door.

"He wasn’t good enough for Chelsea so they got rid of him."

O'Hara added: "I am telling you now that Kai Havertz will be a flop at Arsenal. I don’t think it’s going to work out and I don’t think it’s going to fit into their mould."

Needless to say, O'Hara's blunt response to Wenger's title prediction got fans online talking.

One Twitter user wrote: "Tbh it's laughable, especially after what happened last season. If they sign a clinical striker then maybe they might win it."

A second argued: "They won't come any lower than 2nd and will be 10-20 point clear of Tottenham."

A third agreed: "Have to agree with Jamie here. Honestly can’t tell what people see in Havertz."

A fourth said: "First thing i can agree with O'Hara on, Havertz can't hit a barn door."

Another added: "Jamie O’Hara is so embarrassing, you can literally feel the jealousy coming off him."
