Kai Havertz has made his Arsenal debut

Kai Havertz’s highlights from his Arsenal debut against FC Nurnberg have gone viral.

After a disappointing 22/23 season with Chelsea in which the Stamford Bridge club finished in a dismal 12th place in the Premier League, Havertz felt the time was right to move away.

Weeks of negotiating later, Arsenal finally announced the signing of Havertz from Chelsea in a deal worth a reported £65 million.

On Thursday evening, Mikel Arteta decided to resist the temptation of throwing Havertz straight into his starting eleven as the Gunners took on Bundesliga 2 side FC Nurnberg at the Max Morlock Stadion.

The Gunners went into the half-time interval 1-0 up thanks to a brilliant goal from Bukayo Saka

At the start of the second half, Havertz was put on in place of Reiss Nelson.

During his 45-minute cameo, Havertz didn’t manage to get into the game as Arsenal ended up drawing 1-1 after a bizarre own goal by Jorginho.

After the final whistle, a video of Havertz’s performance has gone viral.

Fans were quick to react to the German’s performance on social media.

One said: “Here he is 70 mill.”

Another tweeted: “Watching this Havertz performance knowing he’s no longer a Chelsea player THANK YOU ARSENAL.”

A third fan added: “He ain't even playing for my club anymore but these performances still p*** me off. that's how bad Havertz is.”

However, some fans were quick to defend Havertz.

One tweeted: “Notice how Havertz is always in the right spot in the box. So much for a failed comp.”

A second person said: “Has good spacing and positioning in the box. I’m confused.”

Someone else wrote: “Being in good position and drinking water in a fail comp una.”

Whilst a fourth commented: “This is the worst fail comp ever man. Literally no mistakes in it.”

Arsenal will now head to the United States for a pre-season tour, where they will take on the likes of the MLS All-Stars, Manchester United and Barcelona.
