Arsenal fans slam 'disgusting' decision after spotting major Premier League title race blow

Arsenal fans have took to vent over what they deem to be an unfair upcoming fixture congestion.

Arsenal fans are venting on social media over what they believe to be a "disgusting" fixture decision.

The Gunners are currently at the top of the Premier League on goal difference after 28 games, with Liverpool and Manchester City still hot on their tails.

The business end of the season comes around after the international break and after reaching the Champions League quarter-finals, it's set to be a busy schedule.

Next up for Arsenal is the huge clash with City at the Etihad on Sunday but another crucial game in the title race could be the North London derby against Spurs on 28 April.

And Arsenal fans have been left furious after new fixture changes means Spurs will have fifteen days off ahead of the match.

They will travel to Newcastle on 13 April but the scheduled clash with City has been postponed because of the holders' FA Cup semi-final commitments on the same weekend.

In the same period, Arsenal will play four consecutive games - coming up against Aston Villa, Bayern Munich, Wolves and Chelsea.

And Arsenal fans are not happy with the congestion and feel as though a fresher Spurs will be given an advantage.

One wrote: "The PL doing everything they can to stop us winning but it ain’t gonna work."

A second said: "When has a team ever had over two weeks off during a run in, doing all they can to stop it."

A third added: "We're out of the cups as well! The whole thing looks screwy to me, how have we had most of January and March off? Could some of these PL games not have been pushed forward a bit?"

However another argued: "So they will be rusty and we will be in good rhythm."

And a final commented: "Who cares! Big teams play games."

Meanwhile Spurs' visit of City is expected to take place in the final week of the season in what could be a hugely decisive fixture.
