Arsenal fans have lost patience with one player after losing to Manchester City in a crucial Premier League title decider.

The Gunners travelled to Manchester having not tasted victory away to their title rivals since 2015 and were on the back foot immediately when Rayan Cherki continued his fantastic form with a goal following a wonderful run inside the box.

Mikel Arteta's men were handed a lifeline just minutes later, Gianluigi Donnarumma's mistake allowing Kai Havertz to pounce and level the score line much to the dismay of Pep Guardiola.

Nevertheless, City were not to be denied as Erling Haaland swept home the winner just past the hour mark to ramp up the pressure on the league leaders with few games remaining in the season.

City will go ahead of Arsenal if they defeat Burnley on Wednesday night.

Arsenal haven't won the Premier League for 22 years and fans have seemingly lost patience with one key player with many believing he should be moved on regardless of them lifting the title or not.

The man in question is club captain Martin Odegaard whose performance against City was heavily scrutinised by Arsenal supporters who aren't happy with his below-par season so far.

Odegaard has scored just one goal and registered five assists in a campaign that has been hampered by injury but fans think it might be time for something else in Arteta's midfield next season.

One fan said: "If Arteta does go in the summer then I strongly believe Odegaard must go too, time for change."

Another added: "There is just no way that Odegaard isn't sold this summer."

A third said: "Odegaard has to be sold this summer, time for something different."

A fourth concluded: "Love everything Odegaard has done for this club but he's just not the same player anymore."

There is no doubt the recurring injuries has impacted the 27-year-old's form this season and his importance to Arteta is underlined by him being handed the captain's armband.

But not all fans are convinced including club legend Tony Adams who believes that Declan Rice should take his place.

He said: "After I made the comment about Odegaard, Arteta went to the players and said, ‘Who do you want as captain?’ And they all went…well, they’re not going to say it to him, are they? ‘We love Odegaard! Hooray!’

"Why do you need the manager then? You pick your captain, you get your rapport, you have got your vice-captains and create a bond.

“I think Declan is a leader. I think he’s a super leader and super player, and I’ve said, I feel that he should be Arsenal captain anyway.”
