Several fans accused Gary Neville of bias for his commentary during Manchester City vs Arsenal on Sunday (April 19).
Neville was part of the Sky Sports commentary team alongside Peter Drury for the top-of-the-table clash, which many have dubbed a ‘title decider’ at the Etihad.
Both sets of supporters no doubt entered the stadium feeling a mix of nerves and excitement, although given the form of the away side, you’d be forgiven for suggesting Pep Guardiola may have had a slightly better night’s sleep than Mikel Arteta.
Rayan Cherki’s solo effort put City ahead on 16 minutes, but it took just two minutes for the league leaders to level things as Kai Havertz forced City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to make a mistake.

As the Italian tried to clear his lines, Havertz pounced, which prompted a huge “WOAHHHH” from Neville.
“This is what we wanted… [Cherki’s] brilliance cancelled out,” Neville screamed.
Shortly after the equaliser, several fans took to social media, accusing Neville of ‘wanting Arsenal to win the league’ rather than remaining neutral.
One said: “Gary Neville has got to be the worst most biased commentator on planet earth.”
Another added: “All I wish is for Gary Neville to never be a commentator ever again, you can hear the envy and contempt from him.”
A third claimed: “I don’t know how much longer I can stand listening to Gary Neville.”
While a fourth commented: “Gary Neville is so f****** desperate for Arsenal to win this league ain’t he.”
As a fifth slammed: “Peter Drury and Gary Neville - a really hard to listen to commentary duo. Drury spouting ‘poetic’ nonsense, Neville adding no value other than retrospective comments that we can all see.”
A sixth exclaimed: “Gary Neville, the utter muppet, isn’t hiding his wish for Arsenal to win the title, is he? Pathetic.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action at home against Newcastle United on April 25, while City travel to Burnley on April 22.
