Former Referee's Reason For Why Cristiano Ronaldo Received A Red Card

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sent off for the first time in his Champions League career. During Juventus' opening match against Valencia, the Portuguese forward was shown a straight red and broke down in tears.

Pundits, social media users and almost anyone who was watching the match has been trying to figure out the referee's main decision for sending off the five-time Ballon d'Or winner back down the tunnel.

However, a former Spanish referee has suggested there was one reason why the Juventus forward was shown a red card.

Eduardo Iturralde González has said that it was Ronaldo's kick and not the hair pulling that resulted in his dismissal.

According to the 51-year-old, the official ruling is that a red is shown for a kick.
