Manchester United are the most valuable football club in the world with a 2023 valuation of $5.95 billion, according to data.

Digital content company Sportico have compiled a comprehensive list of the 50 most valuable soccer clubs in the world, with five Premier League clubs featuring in the top 10.

Liverpool and Manchester City, who generated $790 million and $815 million respectively, are ahead of United when it comes to revenue.

But the global appeal of Erik ten Hag's side is unmatched. So who else features in the list?

United are closely followed by Spanish giants Real Madrid, who have a 2023 valuation of $5.23 billion, and La Liga leaders Barcelona, who are worth a reported $4.95 billion.

Liverpool are fourth [$4.71 billion] followed by Bayern Munich [$4.46 billion], Manchester City [$4.43 billion], Arsenal [$3.6 billion], Chelsea [$3.47 billion], Paris Saint-Germain [$3.41 billion] and Tottenham Hotspur [$3.19 billion].

The top 15 richest teams are all in Europe but a special shout-out goes to Major League Soccer, who have landed 18 clubs overall in the top 50.

Los Angeles FC are said to be valued at $900 million, the highest of all MLS sides, while LA Galaxy and Atalanta follow close behind in 17th and 18th.

Here is the list in full:

Sportico explained how they determine a club's valuation and revenue on their official website.

"To derive the enterprise value of the world’s leading soccer clubs, we calculated each team’s revenue, relying on publicly available financial statements, Deloitte’s Football Money League publication, and our own estimates in cases where detailed information was not available," they wrote.

"For the Premier League and MLS, we used our previous valuations compiled in January (EPL) and late September (MLS).

"Total team revenues are displayed, excluding transfer fees and value added taxes. Revenue consists of three main buckets: broadcast, commercial and matchday. All revenue figures are displayed in U.S. dollars using the average daily exchange rate during the 2021-22 fiscal year: £1 = $1.33 for UK clubs and €1 = $1.13 for teams in continental Europe."
