Four Players Wrexham Could Still Sign After Axing Two Players From EFL Squad

Wrexham were busy on transfer deadline day.

Wrexham could turn to the free transfer market after leaving two players out of their EFL squad.

Led by Phil Parkinson and backed by Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, Wrexham are on another magical ride.

Having risen from Non-League to the Championship, the Red Dragons are chasing another promotion, this time, to the summit of English Football.

Currently, Wrexham sit sixth in the Championship table, having amassed 47 points from 30 matches.

In a bid to continue their charge for promotion, Wrexham were busy at the latter stages of the winter transfer window, bringing in the likes of Zak Vyner, Davis Keillor-Dunn and Bailey Cadamarteri.

Following the end of the window, Wrexham have now submitted their squad list to the EFL for the remainder of the campaign.

As per The Leader Live, defender Lewis Brunt missed out due to injury alongside goalkeeper Callum Burton. Meanwhile, Tom O'Connor is set to miss the rest of the season.

With two places free for Wrexham to fill, they could be tempted to dip into the free agents market to bolster their options.

Here are four potential options who could be tempted by Wrexham.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

During the winter window, Wrexham tried and failed to land Portsmouth right wing-back Terry Devlin, and there was also apparent interest in Ireland international Festy Ebosele.

With the window now closed, full-back Fosu-Mensah could be a viable option due to his experience in English football, having played for Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

The Dutchman last played for Bayer Leverkusen, but minutes were limited due to injuries. He left in 2024 after having his contract terminated early.

Jesse Lingard

Another player with huge experience in English football, having played for United, West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Lingard is said to be looking for a return to Europe after leaving FC Seoul in December. The 33-year-old could play a key role in helping Wrexham achieve another promotion.

Ex-United striker Dwight Yorke has previously tipped Lingard to make a move to Wrexham.

He said, as per talkSPORT: "If he were to go to Wrexham, that wouldn’t be a surprise either. Maybe he feels it’s time to come back home to be closer to his daughter and help Wrexham get promoted to the Premier League."

Dele Alli

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton man has been without a club since leaving Como in 2025.

At the age of just 29, Dele will still have plenty to offer and a move to Wrexham could revive his career.

The Englishman was previously linked with the Red Dragons last year. So far in his career, Dele has made 386 club appearances, scoring 94 goals in the process.

Ryan Kent

Having lost James McClean to Derry City, a left-wing-back could be on the agenda.

Former Liverpool and Rangers man Kent could fill that void. The 29-year-old is good with both feet and last played for Seattle Sounders before leaving at the end of 2025.

With experience in England and Scotland, Kent could be a useful option for Parkinson as he looks to take Wrexham to the Premier League.
