Wrexham Deadline Day Signings Forced to Sign Contract Clause No Other Club Has

Wrexham enjoyed a busy transfer deadline day.

Wrexham's transfer deadline day arrivals reportedly had to sign a special clause that no other clubs will offer.

The Red Dragons are having another magical season as they currently sit sixth in the Championship table.

Phil Parkinson's men have collected 47 points from 30 matches and are looking to mount another promotion charge.

If they succeed, Wrexham will play in the Premier League next season.

In order to help the club's promotion charge, three new players were brought in during the January transfer window.

Zak Vyner signed from Bristol City over the weekend, before Davis Keillor-Dunn and Bailey Cadamarteri joined from Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday, respectively, on transfer deadline day.

Upon signing a deal until the end of the 28/29 campaign, Keillor-Dunn said: "If there's one club that's calling, it's Wrexham you want to go to. When I heard of the interest and spoke to the manager, there was only one place I wanted to come - and that was back here."

Meanwhile, fellow deadline day signing Cadamarteri said: "I couldn't be happier. The club is on a really good journey and I'm excited to be part of it. Phil [Parkinson] is a great manager; he's really experienced and been in the game a long time – I'm looking forward to showing him what I can do."

Previously, as per GOAL, new signings had to agree to star in the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary, with cameras following the club's journey throughout a season.

Ex-defender Ben Tozer said to BBC Sport: "I remember having signed all the contracts electronically but when I got to the club there was another bit of paper to sign that was basically about the documentary.

"You become aware of the cameras pretty quickly. I remember someone in the dressing room saying it was all a bit mad, but it's not long before you get used to it."

Although there has been no official confirmation, Wrexham's latest arrivals may have also been asked to adhere to the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary clause.

Former striker Matt Jansen claimed that the documentary will continue even if Wrexham manage to reach the Premier League.

He told GOAL: "They would have to carry it on because that is the ultimate goal, getting to the Premier League. They have done slightly less intrusive ones - Sunderland Til I Die, the Tottenham one, the Arsenal one.

"I think players like to be a little more private but they would have to carry the documentary on in the Premier League. If you want to keep private, you wouldn’t sign for Wrexham!"
