Barcelona are reportedly considering selling a key player as three top Premier League clubs are ‘monitoring’ the star’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

The La Liga club are currently leading the Spanish top-flight by one point as arch rivals Real Madrid trail the Catalans with 16 games to go.

And Hansi Flick’s side have been at their free-flowing best in the attacking department, netting 60 goals in the league so far this term with Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Dani Olmo and Marcus Rashford all contributing.

However, the same can’t be said for the defensive unit, with Barca conceding over a goal per game in La Liga.

Despite playing 34 times in all competitions this term, France international Jules Kounde’s future is uncertain amid reported concerns about his level of consistency and leadership.

The 27-year-old, who is contracted to Barcelona until June 2030, has struggled in recent weeks, and according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, is among several players under scrutiny.

A potential transfer may also be influenced by the club’s ongoing financial issues, with Kounde seen as a valuable asset whose departure could result in a significant financial gain.

Fichajes claims that the full-back is valued at around £56 million, a price that could tempt several clubs to table bids this summer.

However, it is also suggested that the price may be inflated closer to £70 million if a bidding war between English clubs occurs.

Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are supposedly monitoring the player’s situation, with clubs impressed by his ability to play as a centre-back and full-back.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on Kounde, with the player fitting the desired profile the Bundesliga side looks for due to his experience and physical reliability.

Fichajes added: “No decision has been made, but the situation has clearly changed. Koundé is no longer untouchable, and the club is willing to listen to offers. Everything will depend on how the season ends and whether the player manages to change the current perception with convincing performances.

“Summer presents itself as a turning point. If an offer close to €80 million arrives, Barcelona will have to seriously consider whether to prioritise keeping a defender who has raised doubts or seize the opportunity to cash in and redefine their project. Koundé's future is uncertain and promises to be one of the major topics of the upcoming transfer window.”
