Al-Nassr fans have sent Cristiano Ronaldo a message after he missed his second match in a row amid reports he is on strike.

Ronaldo hasn't been included in an Al-Nassr matchday squad since January, missing his sides last two Saudi Pro League fixtures with Al-Riyadh and Al-Ittihad.

It comes following reports from Portuguese outlet Record claiming Ronaldo feels the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which owns Al Nassr as well as Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Hilal, is favouring other clubs in the transfer market.

The 41-year-old's antics have been met with heavy criticism from the Saudi Pro League, who issued a statement condemning Ronaldo's strike.

With Ronaldo absent from Al-Nassr's clash with Al-Ittihad on Friday, the supporters sent a clear message to their star striker with a rehearsed display of affection.

During the match, fans in the Al-Nassr end repeatedly held up a card branded with 'Ronaldo 7', making a yellow wall around the stadium.

The display was orchestrated by drums in the stands, with supporters shouting 'Siu' on the beat as they held up their cards.

The Al-Nassr supporters goodwill could convince Ronaldo to make a swift return to action, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner hunting down the remaining 39 goals to hit the infamous 1000.

However, Ronaldo may be forced to hunt down the remaining goals away from Saudi Arabia following his outburst, with The i Paper reporting that his boyhood club Sporting CP are interested in signing the striker.

Ronaldo has a £43m release clause in his contract which could be activated this summer, however, Saudi officials already have a plan in place if their original superstar heads for the exit.

According to The i Paper, Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes would be 'perfect fits' to replace Ronaldo as the face of the SPL.

Cristiano Ronaldo Next Club Odds:

If Ronaldo's release clause is to be activated this summer, the current odds from William Hill place Sporting CP as the favourites at 7/2, with an outside move to the MLS also tipped.

Sporting Lisbon – 7/2

Manchester United – 6/1

Real Madrid – 8/1

Juventus – 12/1

Paris Saint-Germain – 16/1

Any MLS Club – 25/1
