Morgan Gibbs-White's fiancée aims brutal dig at Thomas Tuchel after latest England snub

England supporters rarely shy away from strong opinions when it comes to the selection of a new Three Lions squad, and manager Thomas Tuchel has been criticised for the ongoing omission of a player who hasn't been capped for nearly a year.

Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White came off the bench against Wales at Wembley to collect his sixth and most recent senior cap, but has been overlooked in 2026 despite an impressive calendar year.

Gibbs-White, 26, was widely considered to be a potential inclusion for England's Nations League fixtures in September and October. His omission from the World Cup squad was questioned in May, and the start of a new cycle offered hope that the midfielder might be restored to the squad.

Gibbs-White's fiancee shows Tuchel what England are missing

England reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in July, their first major tournament of Tuchel's tenure. They were beaten 2-1 by Argentina in Atlanta and the manager has named his latest squad with nine World Cup players out – many enforced by injury – and 10 new call-ups or returning players who didn't make the cut.

Yet there's still no place for Gibbs-White, who must feel as if there's not a great deal more he could do to justify his inclusion.

Certainly his fiancee, 'internet personality' Britney De Villiers, has indicated that she's not in agreement with Tuchel's decision.

In a post on Instagram Stories on Friday, De Villiers posted a screenshot of a telling statistic that summarises what Gibbs-White can offer that England do not have without him: "Morgan Gibbs-White is the only player to have created 5+ chances in a single Premier League game this season."

The game in question was Forest's visit to Aston Villa last Saturday, when Gibbs-White create seven chances in a 2-1 victory.

Gibbs-White has been excluded despite top-level performance

The Forest skipper has been one of the best English midfielders this year.

As well as his ability to maintain possession and carry the ball with attacking intent, he regularly delivers the end product to match.

He's the key chance creator in his team and has been the highest scoring midfield player in Europe's top five leagues in the 2026 calendar year.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers player scored 15 times in the Premier League last season and did so in a team that had four different managers and finished in the lower reaches of the table.

He's already off the mark in 2026-27 but Tuchel has not been moved to change his mind, selecting Eberechi Eze and Rio Ngumoha among his attacking players and Cole Palmer, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Alex Scott as midfielders.

According to one of the many fans criticising the decision on social media, leaving him out of England's upcoming matches against Spain, Czech Republic twice and Croatia is 'criminal'.
