Thomas Tuchel says that Ben White deserves a ‘second chance’ with England as he revealed 'clear the air' talks are planned over his decision to walk away from the national team.
White was a surprise injury replacement call-up to Tuchel’s latest England squad on Monday.
He hadn’t represented England since the 2022 World Cup, when he left the camp following a reported disagreement with assistant coach Steve Holland.
Nearly three-and-a-half years on, White is back with the Three Lions for their final international window prior to the 2026 World Cup.

The Arsenal defender earned a place on the substitutes’ bench from the start for Friday’s friendly fixture against Uruguay.
There has been notable interest surrounding White’s return to the international fold, with some questioning whether his lengthy absence warrants a place back in the squad.
But the former Brighton man has performed consistently well at right-back for Arsenal in several years, with his versatility at centre-back making him an ideal squad option.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the Uruguay fixture, Tuchel revealed that he did indeed ask for more details from White about why he decided to leave the England camp in 2022.
"If you believe it or not, I didn't hear a story about it," Tuchel explained, in regards to White's previous decision.
"I asked him, and he didn't want to speak about it. I didn't want to know about it, because I think he deserves a second chance."
On White's arrival at training for the first time earlier this week, Tuchel said: "Within seconds, it was a very positive and emotional reaction from him. He made it very clear how delighted he is to be back.
"This is what he has shown in the last days. Everyone deserves a second chance, but I don't even know if he did something wrong or exactly what happened.
"But an explanation among the players who were there, to clear the air, is sure in progress."
"Something must have happened, because if a player leaves from a tournament it's never good and it can never be nothing," he explained.
"I'm not sure if apologise is the right word, but maybe just to clear the air with the players who were there. I think he has done and will do with the majority of the players who come now."
