Cristiano Ronaldo Sat Alone In The Dressing Room For 20 Minutes After Manchester United Hammering

Cristiano Ronaldo needed some space on his own after Manchester United were badly beaten.

Cristiano Ronaldo sat alone in the dressing room for 20 minutes after Manchester United were trounced 4-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this month.

United suffered heir most damaging defeat of a torrid season in what was Ralf Rangnick's penultimate game in charge as interim boss.

Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard were all on target at the AMEX, with the heavy defeat confirming United would not be playing Champions League football next season and also meaning they would finish the campaign with their lowest Premier League points tally.

According to the Manchester Evening News, it took Ronaldo a bit of time to digest the humiliation his team had just been on the end of.

He was quite visibly frustrated throughout the loss but when Brighton scored their fourth goal he couldn't help but laugh - almost in disbelief at what he was watching.

As per the report, all the players left the stadium - either via coach or car.

Ronaldo had initially been escorted away from the premises and had a driver waiting for him. But he then decided to go back inside the dressing room and sat there in his own company.

It was communicated to the driver that Ronaldo would come back out once the coaches had left.

The Red Devils' final game of the season away at Crystal Palace came two weeks after the Brighton defeat, which resulted in Rangnick giving his squad four days off.

Players were therefore allowed to make their own way from the ground if they wanted to.

The thrashing at the hands of Brighton turned out to be Ronaldo's final appearance of the season as he did not feature at Selhurst Park this weekend.

He finished the term with 24 goals in all competitions, including 18 in the Premier League.

New United boss Erik ten Hag was officially unveiled on Monday and confirmed Ronaldo's place in his plans for next season.
