Cristiano Ronaldo could link up with Chelsea star N’Golo Kante if the former-Manchester United player signs for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner acrimoniously departed United on the eve of the World Cup, having been publicly critical of the club, its manager Erik ten Hag and its owners, the Glazers.

However, Ronaldo now looks likely to become the highest-paid footballer of all time by signing for Al Nassr. He's reportedly offered an eye-watering contract that would usurp Kylian Mbappe’s £880,000-per-week at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 37-year-old will allegedly sign an initial three-year deal worth £250million, though there is scope to tie Ronaldo down for longer with other roles and responsibilities beyond football.

It appears Al Nassr could also turn their attention to another Premier League star once they get the Ronaldo deal over the line.

Al Nassr in for Kante?

According to Foot Mercato, Al Nassr are interested in signing Chelsea and France midfielder Kante, who is entering the final six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 31-year-old, who was once arguably the world’s best midfielder, has only played in two Premier League fixtures this season due to injury.

Kante’s age and injury issues may see the Blues sever ties with the player at the end of the season, particularly given Chelsea owner Todd Boehly’s desire to target younger players in the transfer window and lower the average age of the squad.

While Barcelona is said to be interested in signing the diminutive midfielder, they are now facing competition from Al Nassr.

Foot Mercato claim that while Kante is not against staying in London, he would also be open to joining the Saudi side.

Financially Al Nassr will have an advantage over the Catalan giants, though they will need to sell some of their existing foreign players to accommodate both Ronaldo and Kante.
