Cristiano Ronaldo crisis meeting called as Portugal star skips training following Norway snub
An emergency meeting is planned to resolve the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal after he was snubbed in the win over Norway.
Ronaldo, Portugal's captain and record goalscorer, played in the 1-0 win over Wales in the Nations League but was then an unused substitute in the 2-1 victory.
As soon as the final whistle sounded, an angry Ronaldo went straight down the tunnel and headed down to the away dressing room in Oslo. Portugal have a further two games coming up in the Nations League but the storm surrounding Ronaldo became a bigger one when it emerged he had not trained ahead of the clash with Denmark.

He was on the pitch in training attire around 30 minutes before the session but then spoke to manager Jorge Jesus, left and returned to hotel to complete a gym session.
According to the Portuguese Football Federation, the stadium gym did not have the correct equipment Ronaldo required for his gym work.
But the situation is a concerning one, with it reported that Pedro Proenca, the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, is travelling to Copenhagen in a bid to resolve the issue.
He had been due to be in attendance to watch the Under 21 side's game in Ponta Delgada on Wednesday against Gibraltar but there was an urgent change of plan.
Proenca avoided questions from journalists at the Humberto Delgado Airport and is poised to meet with both Jesus and Ronaldo on Wednesday.

Portugal legend Figo has weighed in the controversy surrounding Ronaldo and backed Jesus as he claimed the five-time Ballon d'Or's status in the game shouldn't give him all the power.
“In terms of national team, it is the coach who has to decide,” Figo told ESPN.
“It’s not because you have a statue or what he means for football, or what he still means today, that he should have a place.
“So it’s a big responsibility for the coach,” he said. “In terms of his own decision, it is only him that can say what he wants, what he plans and what is his future.”
