Fans furious with Jobe Bellingham after seeing what he did in Borussia Dortmund's win over Monterrey

Jobe featured in Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 win over Monterrey, which saw the Germans progress to the Club World Cup quarter-final.

Fans were left annoyed by what Jobe Bellingham did during Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 win over Monterrey on Wednesday.

Jobe, 19, started the Bundesliga side’s 2-1 win in Atlanta, which saw them progress to a mouthwatering quarter-final clash against Real Madrid on Saturday.

Serhou Guirrasy scored a brace, but Jobe’s evening did not go as well as he may have anticipated.

On 27 minutes, Jobe chased Monterrey’s Nelson Deossa before fouling his opponent and received a yellow card for his action.

And the caution was his second of the Club World Cup, which means he is suspended for the clash against Los Blancos and his older brother, Jude.

Dortmund head coach Nico Kovac admitted that Jobe was “disappointed” that he will miss out.

"I think we all saw that he [Jobe Bellingham] was very disappointed," said Kovac after his side’s victory.

"I think he did not exactly know that the second yellow card is a suspension at half-time. He was a little bit surprised.

"OK, he's young. His brother is also young so I'm convinced they will face each other, maybe next season in the Champions League and then the future. The future is for them.

"The Club World Cup would be nice but now it isn't. Someone else must play for him but it's also okay."

Fans were also quick to give their thoughts.

One said: "The sibling rivalry we were all waiting for is off the table."

Another added: "Jobe Bellingham had one job to not get a yellow to go against Jude."

A third commented: "Jobe got the dumbest yellow card ever and now he’s gonna miss the quarters, Jude v Jobe would’ve been cool."

While a fourth explained: "This is our chance to get a match up of the Bellingham brothers but Jobe is suspended."

Dortmund's Sporting Director, Sebastian Kehl, also revealed how he had to "console" the Englishman.

"[Jobe] was really looking forward to playing against his brother; it's a very bitter moment for him. We have to console him a touch," said Kehl.

“He’s young and so is his brother; I’m certain they'll face each other again in the the future, maybe even in next season's Champions League."
