Oscar Piastri has revealed the outcome of an internal review held by McLaren following his collision with Lando Norris during the United States Grand Prix sprint.
Last weekend, the 2025 Formula 1 title race reached another boiling point as the two McLarens collided at the start of the US Grand Prix sprint at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
Heading into Turn One, Piastri yielded to Norris but made contact with Nico Hulkenberg, which then put the Australian into his McLaren teammate.
As a result, Norris lost a wheel and spun, while Piastri suffered suspension damage, and both McLarens retired from the race.

The following day, Piastri had another afternoon to forget as he only managed to finish fifth in the Grand Prix, with Norris finishing second behind Max Verstappen.
This means that with just five races to go, Piastri's lead over Norris at the top of the standings has been cut down to just 14 points. Meanwhile, Verstappen is also firmly back in the mix as he is only 40 points adrift of the Australian.

On Thursday afternoon, ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, it has been claimed that Piastri has now been punished by McLaren.

After the McLaren pair's coming together during the Singapore Grand Prix, Norris revealed that he would face 'repercussions' for the remainder of the campaign.
However, following another collision in Austin last weekend, it appears that whatever advantage given to Piastri has now been taken away.
According to The Race, McLaren will 'no longer impose a minor sporting penalty on Lando Norris' upon reviewing the US Grand Prix sprint incident.
After initially placing the blame on Hulkenberg, McLaren have now reportedly come to the conclusion that Piastri 'could have been more careful with his move, and he himself said he bore some responsibility'.

The report stated that 'Piastri confirmed the consequences on Lando's side have been removed'.
Speaking about the incident, Piastri said: "We've gone through it again, we go through every weekend regardless of what's happened.
"There is a degree of responsibility from my side on the sprint, and we're starting this weekend on a clean slate for both of us. Just going out and racing and see who can come out on top."
