Luke Littler was forced to call out his 'good mate' on social media after he received messages from fans who claimed they had been scammed.
The teenage sensation added yet another trophy to his collection on Sunday night, claiming his fourth PDC European Tour title with a dramatic 8-7 victory over Josh Rock in the Flanders Darts Trophy final.
Littler fought from behind to win the title and pocket a £30,000 prize in Belgium. It means he keeps up the pressure on Luke Humphries as he hunts down his rival's world number one spot.
But it was not all good news for Littler, as he was forced to take to Instagram Stories to warn his followers to not buy tickets from an apparent scam account. He said a 'good mate' had asked him to do a favour and promote a music festival ticket selling account on his Instagram, but it was seemingly not authentic.

Posting a screenshot of the account in question, Littler wrote: "Everyone ignore this account, don't buy any tickets because I have had numerous messages saying I've been scammed so everyone don't be buying anything on here.
"A good mate of mine wanted me to do a favour so I it it on my story, he gained 500-plus followers. But obviously he's scamming people and not got the tickets, so everyone ignore it my apologies I didn't think he was like this."
The account in question has since been deleted.

Despite the distraction, it did not seem to impact Littler's performance at the oche.
Will Luke Littler become the world number one?
After his World Matchplay victory in July, he became just the fifth player to complete the Triple Crown.
Having won the Premier League in May 2024, he added the World Championship in January 2025, before he completed the set at Blackpool at the start of the summer.

He joins illustrious company with Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Luke Humphries the only other players to have won the three trophies.
But Littler is not done there and he now has his eyes set on taking the status of world number one, which is currently held by Humphries.
The PDC World Rankings are based on prize money won by players over a two-year period in ranking tournaments.
Humphries leads the way with £1,782,750, but Littler is £249,750 behind on £1,533,000.

They have a significant advantage over van Gerwen who sits in third with prize money of £742,500.

As this is only Littler's second year of having a PDC Tour Card, all of the prize money which he wins from the ranking events counts towards his total.
But Humphries is defending money which he won during the 2023 season.

The Yorkshireman ended that year strongly, winning the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and the Players Championship Finals.
Before those events there are five Players Championship events and three European Tour events, giving Littler a chance to further close the gap before the end of the year.
If Littler continues his good form, then he will be the world number one ahead of the World Championships.
