After spotting Mayweather inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, rumours gathered pace that the boxing legend was wearing a diamond-encrusted cap worth $1 million.

Fans were questioning Mayweather’s decision to spend so much money on the cap with his ‘Money Team’ logo on it.

However, Mayweather has now denied those rumours by revealing the price of the cap.

On his Instagram account, Mayweather said: “I don’t know who started the rumour that my hat was a million dollars. But it was $30,000. $30,000 is still a pricey number for a snap back.”

Mayweather has been known for splashing the cash having earned a huge amount of money throughout his illustrious career.

In his next exhibition fight against John Gatti III, Mayweather is expected to pocket a guaranteed seven-figure prize money.

The American has previously stated that he earns a huge $300 a month after YouTuber Jake Paul claimed Mayweather was ‘broke’.

At his first ballot induction after being named in the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Mayweather said: “I will continue to give back to the sport of boxing in my time, and I will also give back financially because I got it.

“To my team, my guys in New York, and my other real estate team that’s here today, we can’t be stopped. In 32 months, I put myself in a position with a smart business team to make $300m a month. It all started from the sport of boxing.”
