Fans given fresh Arsenal transfer update from David Ornstein

Arsenal fans have been given a fresh update on their club's transfer news from David Ornstein.

The ultra reliable David Ornstein has spoken about what his recent understandings are of transfers at London Colney.

Arteta himself has spoken of the want to bring in more players, with the squad as it is being incomplete, stating that “we will try” to make further deals.

Ornstein’s understanding is confirmation of Arteta’s words, stating that:

“[Arsenal] want to do more business, I think they want to add a winger to what they’ve got & if they manage to get somebody in, I think they’ll be pretty happy.”

“There will be some outgoings as well.”

Having failed in their pursuit of now Barcelona winger Raphinha, talks on the wideman front have been eerily silent, a reflection of the way technical director Edu seemingly prefers to operate.

Fans, as they tend to do, want to know the profiles, the names, the specifics of who such a target will be.

However, as is par for the course with Edu, those cards are close to his chest, with Ornstein saying that:

“Everyone will be asking, ‘Who is that winger?’. Well, we know they went in for Raphinha.”

“I don’t know who they’re going to go [for], if they do bring in a new winger.”

“It could depend on Pepe leaving the club.”

If that is the case, then suitors will have to emerge quickly, with the transfer window entering its latter stages.

There had been reports that the Ivorian was offered to Newcastle, however, such a move has failed to come to fruition as of yet.

As for Youri Tielemans, he is another player on Arteta’s radar, however, like with a winger, space needs to be freed up:

“Youri Tielemans is a player Arsenal like. Leicester City would sell with only a year to go on his contract”

“But there’s no movement on that one yet & I think Arsenal would need to let someone go if they’re to bring someone in.”

In defence of the Gunners, they have certainly been active in their attempts to tell, with Leno and Torriera moving in recent days, along with talks for Pablo Mari’s departure being advanced.

However, there are easily five to six more names Arsenal would gladly depart with, such as the likes of Bellerin and Maitland Niles.

With the window entering its final straights, movement can be expected quickly, on both arrivals and departures.

Time will tell if more signings arrive, but the intention is clear, signings are desired.
