How Edu Keeps The Media Guessing On Arsenal Transfers

The media twists and turns in Arsenal's transfer business so far this summer are reportedly thanks to Edu's preference to work in silence.

With the invention and increased use of social media, transfer speculation has become rife as many people now have an outlet to get new information out.

In spite of this, Arsenal's technical director Edu is said to prefer a more silent approach to transfers.

That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that's why it's not always easy to know what Arsenal will do next.

Arsenal have been very active in this summer transfer window already bringing in Gabriel Jesus, Marquinhos, Matt Turner and Fabio Viera respectively.

After a disappointing end to the Premier League season, the Gunners have been looking to bolster their ranks before their return to Europe.

Transfer windows are when fan excitement reaches peak levels.

There's speculation running rampant about who the club will sign, leaks coming out about potential deals, and fantasy signing fans hope will eventually get over the line.

But while this might be thrilling for fans hanging on every word of transfer speculation, this opinion isn’t shared by Mikel Arteta or the board.

It's something the Arsenal manager vowed to stamp out of the club following a story on David Luiz and Dani Ceballos getting into a spat.

At the time, Arteta vowed to destroy the player that leaked the information.

While the excitement of the Gabriel Jesus signing has begun to wane as fans await the newest target, Arsenal fans remain hopeful of new incomings but will have to exercise patience.

According to reports, Edu is said to be a more serious force in the transfer market and has a great relationship with Mikel Arteta, but prefers to do his work in silence.

With new reports about player interest and signings seemingly emerging daily, it becomes harder to decipher which stories have credibility.

With fans desperate for the club to get back into the Champions League after a five-year absence, Edu’s silent approach will have to bring in excellent recruits to achieve their targets for the upcoming season.
