The Rock Asked To Delete Any History With Logan Paul After Suicide Forest Video

The Rock Asked To Delete Any History With Logan Paul After Suicide Forest Video

Paul received a huge backlash over the video he published in 2017.

Logan Paul has revealed that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson asked him to remove all content of them together after the Japan suicide forest controversy.

Back in 2017 when Paul was primarily a YouTuber he made a video in Japan's Aokigahara forest, which is also known as the 'suicide forest' as dozens of people go there every year to take their own lives.

He and his friends were exploring the area when they came across a deceased man who had reportedly died by suicide, and while they were initially shocked they went on to make jokes about the situation.

The video caused severe backlash, with Logan losing business deals and having his YouTube account temporarily demonetised.

Shortly after, the vlogger apologised for the incident and vowed to do better, seemingly learning from the monumental mistake – but he still feels the reverberations today, in particular after being dropped by The Rock.

In a recent sit-down with fellow YouTuber True Geordie, Paul detailed how his relationship with the movie star developed back when he was still making Vines.

They made a few sketches together that went 'crazy viral', and Paul admitted he was 'scared to meet him' in case he didn't live up to the idea of him he had in his head.

In reality, however, he said Johnson was 'awesome' and 'gave me the time of day'. Which is why what unfolded after the Japan controversy was one of the 'saddest moments' of his life.

Speaking hesitantly to Geordie, Paul said: "After Japan happened, obviously found myself in a hole – rightfully so – that I had never been in before.

"[I was] extremely low mentally, and I got a call from my publicist who also repped Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and she's like, 'Hey Dwayne's asked that you remove every picture and video that you’ve done with him and maybe in the future the relationship can be reconciled but for now he basically wants nothing to do with you,' which I also understood.

"I get it. You know, I made a grotesque error and he has had things happen in his life where like a lot of people that incident affected him in a personal way.

"So I understood it and that was the other part... you sleep in the bed you make, right?

"But I just wish I'd gotten like a call or a text or something because I thought we had a healthy relationship, an open line of communication. And I was so sad that my hero wanted nothing to do with me. And I was sad because I understood it, I really f****d up."

The vlogger said he was devastated that his hero wanted nothing to do with him.

He continued: "I was so disappointed in myself, and so I vowed to get better, I vowed to change, time passed, I start doing well... I just wanted to be able to build a relationship with Dwayne that didn’t end up happening."

Logan went on to confess that he'd received an Instagram DM from The Rock just a few months ago over a funny video he'd posted as if 'nothing ever happened'.

But when Geordie asked if he'd replied, he said 'no', adding that he's 'still stuck on what happened back then'.
