Mysterio thanked his wife for all the sacrifices she had made for him:

"She said wait it out, stick through it. And what Angie did was, she was studying medicine at the time, she literally put her medical career aside, got a job, and would send me money so that I could pursue my dream."

Mysterio had to take a break in the middle of thanking his wife, as he started to tear up and get emotional.

He also went on to talk about his relationship with fellow WWE legend Eddie Guerrero, who died suddenly in 2005, but was known to be a mentor to Rey Mysterio.

"12 years old, I was just a fan, wasn't even wrestling yet, had a chance to meet Eddie, he wrestled with my Uncle one night, and, man, it was the same Eddie that I ran into years later in WCW. His heart never changed. He always had the same heart."

Finally, Rey Mysterio thanked the WWE Universe for the opportunity to become what he is today.

"Hear me out when I say this, I truly believe that none of this would be possible without all of you: The WWE Universe. You guys have made the name 'Rey Mysterio' immortal."

Rey Mysterio famously broke the mold and changed the game of Wrestling, setting an example that modern wrestliung stars have followed to successes of their own. He has been an outstanding in-ring performer throughout his career, capably working with several wrestlers of varying sizes, shapes and backgrounds.

Mysterio is now set to face-off in a family grudge match at Wrestlemania 39 against his estranged Son, which is taking place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Saturday night.
