Nate Diaz has laid claim to being the MMA 'GOAT' after being omitted from Conor McGregor's rankings.

The Notorious fighter selected his four top fighters in a big thread - with the likes of Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre and Jon Jones getting a mention.

McGregor originally had the legendary Silva as his number one but then stated that 'PED results' drop 'The Spider' from the top spot and so McGregor himself claimed to be the "clear current No.1 MMA GOAT."

His controversial thread prompted responses from UFC champions Jones and Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Diaz too elected to weigh in.

'The Stockton Slugger' posted a typical outspoken tweet where he reminded fans he tapped out McGregor at UFC 196 - claiming he "sent him down with punches quicker than Mayweather did" before saying "f*ck alll y'all rankings and know a real goat when you see me."

Jones, who had earlier said he would let the fans do the debating, wasn't having Diaz putting himself in the conversation and took to Instagram to dismiss the 35-year old.
