Conor McGregor Trolls Dustin Poirier Once More Ahead of UFC 264

Conor McGregor continues to play mind games ahead of his clash against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

McGregor has posted a picture of an Instagram direct message from Poirier's wife Jolie ahead of their third meeting inside the Octagon this weekend, as he tries to rile up the American.

The two lock horns once again in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it's clear the Irishman has all the tricks up his sleeve to unsettle and get in the mind of Poirier, similar to what he did before their fight in 2014.

The pair have fought each other twice before in their UFC careers, with McGregor winning by first-round knockout in 2014 and Poirier annihilating the Irishman in their most recent fight in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

The Diamond won the second clash via a second-round TKO.

The third contest between the two is one of the most highly-anticipated fights in UFC history, one that has fans frothing at the bit for.

McGregor has picked up from where he left off with the mind games by tweeting a photo of an Instagram direct message request from Poirier's other half.

The tweet has received heavy criticism from the public, as several voiced their disappointment on the matter. Some have compared his tactics to Jake Paul.

It's not the first time that McGregor has resorted to this style of strategies.

A couple of years back, while trying to call out Khabib Nurmagomedov for a rematch, McGregor posted a picture of his wedding day with the caption: "Your wife is a towel mate".

He was quick to delete the tweet.

MMA fighters often resort to trash talk and mind games ahead of big fights in an attempt to rile up and distract their opponents. However, it appears that McGregor has overstepped the mark on this occasion.

This act of classlessness on the Irishman's part may well backfire on him this weekend.
