France and England are currently battling it out in the final game of the 2026 Six Nations with the visitors currently leading 27-24.
Les Bleus understand that any sort of victory will confirm them as Six Nations champions; however, a defeat will see Ireland lift the trophy at the end of play.
Steve Borthwick’s side came into this fixture with the possibility of finishing with the wooden spoon had they suffered a record defeat to the French; however, that does not appear to be possible with how England are playing, as they must lose by 87 points.
The England head coach knows that his position is under threat due to the poor performances in the Six Nations and particularly after the nation's first-ever defeat to Italy last weekend.

However, they have impressed to this point of the game and have shocked many fans, as it was expected that they would be on the end of a heavy defeat as the French marched to the Six Nations title.

Fans appear pleased on social media at this performance from the English, but they all had the same question or complaint around the match throughout the clash.
There was a lot of confusion around who signed off on the two kits, as France wore a special 120th-anniversary kit of pale blue to commemorate their first-ever match against the English, while Borthwick’s team wore their traditional white.
Fans complained about this decision, as it made watching difficult at times in what had been an exciting, attacking display from both teams.
One fan said: “Whoever agreed to the strips needs an urgent visit to Specsavers; the ref might be able to spot the difference, but all the spectators and those seeing the wide-angle TV pictures can only see 30 WHITE strips.”
Meanwhile another added: “Good to see everyone getting a taste of what it's like for us colourblind folk all the time. This kit choice is appalling.”
Another fan was particularly confused about the decision to allow this kit clash after Wales were not allowed to play in red against the Irish, who wear green, to help those who are colourblind to watch the game without any difficulty.
They said: “If the red/green from Wales and Ireland was causing people trouble, then this one is really taking it too far. A beaut of a kit, sure, but seriously?”
One simply summed it up as they said: “That France shirt is fire. The kit clash, however, is an utter farce.”
Several fans have asked why England could not play in a different colour for this match to aid them in being able to watch this game without squinting, particularly with the standard of attacking rugby being played by both sets of players.
While fans will not be pleased they have to watch this kit clash for another 40 minutes, they will certainly be happy to continue watching the level of rugby we have been served by both teams in the first half.
