A man who doesn't go to the gym often decided to do 100 sit-ups a day for 30 days, and the results were incredible.

As per tradition, many people set themselves fitness goals when a new year begins.

For example, people often look to motivate themselves to do more exercise, join the gym or simply go for a run.

In 2019, James Stewart Whyte challenged himself to do 100 push-ups every day for an entire year.

Whyte went on to admit that progress was slow and he had to remain patient to see the results.

He said: "The progress I made was slow. After the first few months of the year I saw an almost imperceptible change, progress started to show entering the summer.

"Around this time was when other people started to notice as well.I was building muscle and becoming stronger, and the daily workouts were becoming easier."

Whyte added: "Mid year I checked in on my progress. Although results were modest, they were there, and it proved that after you establish a new habit you have to give that habit time to work before you see the results."

Another man has spoken about a similar challenge to Whyte's.

Instead of doing 100 push-ups per day for a year, one man decided to do 100 sit-ups per day for 30 days.

The man, named Enzo, rarely goes to the gym and was doing the challenge with two frequent gym-goers in a video on the Browney YouTube channel.

At first try, Enzo was seen struggling to complete the total amount of 100 sit-ups as he stated that he hopes to gain some abs by sticking to the challenge.

Enzo then said that he was still feeling the pain he suffered from day one as he embarked on his second try.

He admitted that he was struggling to sleep, and all he could do was hope that the pain would go away.

12 days went by and Enzo started to find it easier to do the sit-ups and there were also signs that he was building up some abs.

By day 20, Enzo breezed through his sit-ups within seven minutes, halving the time it took him when the challenge first began.

And when the challenge ended, it turned out that he had gained just over half a kilogram in weight as he managed to put on some muscle mass.
