Luke Littler beats Rob Cross to reach World Darts Championship final, he's special

16-year-old sensation Luke Littler showed his class yet again to beat 2018 champion Rob Cross and reach the final.

Luke Littler made history by becoming the youngest PDC World Darts Championship finalist of all-time after a thrilling semi-final victory over Rob Cross.

The 16-year-old boy-wonder showed his class yet again with another sensational performance.

Littler had some momentary early struggles but quickly regained his composure and saw off the 2018 champion by six sets to two in front of the adoring fans at Alexandra Palace.

With his win over Cross following victories over Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding, Matt Campbell, Raymond van Barneveld and Brendan Dolan, ‘The Nuke’ will play the winner of the other semi-final between Luke Humphries and Scott Williams on Wednesday.

The Runcorn teenager, who started playing darts as a toddler, is already guaranteed to pocket a life-changing £200,000 as that is the figure given to the runner-up.

If he manages to do the unthinkable and win a seventh game in a row, Littler will be £500,000 richer.

Littler's first television memory of darts was Gary Anderson's back-to-back wins in 2015 and 2016, an admission that made fans feel very old.

With his previous earnings £2,500 until the tournament in the capital, he's become an overnight sensation and linked up with England stars Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale and James Maddison.

He's taken everything in his stride and remained incredibly humble.

Reflecting on his rise, he told Sky Sports: "I'm doing interviews with Sky Sports. Usually I am up in the morning watching Sky Sports News. Now I am on the news.

"It's all incredible. I am taking it all in my stride.

"[My life has] has already changed. At the [West Ham United vs] Arsenal game the other day, people were getting photos with me.

"When I was putting my hood up, people were walking around in front of me asking for a picture and I was like, 'What? I've got my hood up, I'm trying to hide.' But it's all good that people are wanting pictures, I'm glad."
