The 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will introduce a new feature that was absent at the Paris Games last summer.

An estimated five billion people - about 84% of the potential global audience - tuned in to watch the Paris Olympic Games last summer, making it the most popular Olympics of all-time.

The popularity of the Paris Games led to fans immediately looking ahead to the next Olympic Games, which is set to be hosted in Los Angeles in the summer of 2028.

Although the LA Olympics are still three years away, planning for the massive event is already underway and a recent announcement has revealed it will introduce a useful feature that was absent in Paris.

As revealed in a report from The Independent, Los Angeles Olympic organisers have announced a partnership with Archer Aviation to provide air taxi services throughout the Games.

Heading into the Games, concerns had been raised about transportation to events in a city that has become infamous for its brtual traffic.

With more than 15 million people expected to travel to LA to attend the Olympic Games in 2028, organisers decided to introduce aircraft capable of carrying up to four passengers to their transport plans.

Speaking about the collaboration, Adam Goldstein, CEO and founder of Archer Aviation, said: "We want to transform the way people get around Los Angeles and leave a legacy that shapes the future of transportation in America.

“There's no better time to do that than during the LA28 Games."

The Olympics will make use of Archer's electric Midnight eVTOL aircraft, which will transport VIPs, fans, and stakeholders between venues which will have designated landing and take-off zones.

The aircraft will also be made available to emergency services and security throughout the event.

"Our vision is to fundamentally re-imagine the Olympic and Paralympic Games experience, and this partnership represents an incredible opportunity to deliver something unprecedented, showcasing the very best of what Los Angeles has to offer on the world stage," LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman added.

The Paris Olympic Games were also due to have a small fleet of pilot-less air taxis available during the event, but was affected by several delays before it was ultimately cancelled as it failed to win certification from Europe’s air safety agency in time.
