The real reason why Angry Ginge and his I'm A Celeb campmates will have to wear red socks during their time in the jungle has been revealed.

On Sunday, the popular ITV show, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, will make its long-awaited return to our TV screens.

Over the years, the number of big names from the sporting world have entered the Australian jungle.

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp won in 2018 before former Manchester City and England star Jill Scott was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2022.

This year, Baller League manager Angry Ginge and ex-Arsenal and England player Alex Scott will be heading into the jungle.

Over the years, we have been accustomed to I'm A Celeb contestants wearing red socks, but why do they do that?

Well, according to The Tab, former I'm A Celeb medic, Bob McCarron, stated that the socks are red to hide blood.

This is because the celebrities' ankles will get scratched by foliage and bitten by bugs and leeches.

Recently, Angry Ginge's best friend, Tays, revealed the reason why the popular streamer is heading into the Australian jungle.

He said: "Ginge told me before he went on there, that he's going on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here to find a girlfriend.

"That is the reason he said he is going on I'm A Celebrity. He said that he is going there to find a girlfriend."

Scousemali added: "He's going on there to find love. I mean I never got told this, Tays MCR got told this information then Scouse Somali got told second this information. Scouse Somali from Liverpool."

Meanwhile, Angry Ginge sent a final message to his fans before appearing on the show.

He said: "If you are seeing this I have officially been announced. Just literally finished my last stream then before I went obviously couldn’t do like a proper, proper goodbye because otherwise gives it away.

"Without you, I wouldn’t even be able to go in the jungle. So first of all, thank you very much. Yeah, basically just wanted to come on and say thank you. It should be good, should be interesting. Please don’t vote for me to do too many trials is what I will say. If I do get voted for them I will do me very best."
