A reporter from ESPN had tears in his eyes after watching Bad Bunny's much-talked-about Super Bowl halftime show.

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, made history on Sunday evening by becoming the first Super Bowl halftime show headliner to perform entirely in Spanish.

Ocasio's 13-minute cameo, which included hits like “Nuevayol”, "DTMF" and "Baile Inolvidable", included Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin as special guest performers before he ended the performance by shouting "God Bless America".

The celebration of Latino heritage at the halftime show was praised by many, including ESPN reporter John Sutcliffe, who was visibly emotional following Bad Bunny's performance in Santa Clara, California.

"We should feel proud," said Sutcliffe, who had tears in his eyes as he spoke to viewers. "Benito sang in Spanish at the most important American party."

Sutciffe also said that he has never felt so represented during his time in the United States.

"Honestly, it was very moving," he said. "The message Bonnie sent, whether you like his music or not, was full of love, culture, and affection, in a world where suddenly everyone seems to be fighting."

"Whether you’re in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, wherever you are, it’s okay to have a tear in your eye and feel proud that Benito sang in Spanish at the most important celebration in the United States," added Sutcliffe. "Long live Bad Bunny."

Donald Trump reacts to Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bad Bunny

Shortly after Bad Bunny finished his set at Levi's Stadium, US President Trump made his feelings clear on Truth Social.

"The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence," he wrote.

"Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World."

Trump added: "This 'Show' is just a 'slap in the face' to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day - including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD - And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Trump previously suggested the halftime show headliner was one of the reasons he was staying away from Super Bowl LX.

"I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible," he said of Bad Bunny and Green Day, who opened the event.
