Donald Trump described Bad Bunny's historic Super Bowl halftime show as a 'slap in the face' as he issued a scathing statement.

The Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29-13 to win Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium on Sunday.

The Seahawks delivered a dominant defensive performance as they stifled star quarter-back Drake Maye, who was sacked five times and intercepted twice while losing a fumble.

It's the Seahawks' second Lombardi trophy following their triumph in 2014.

But Super Bowl LX will be remembered for Bad Bunny's electric halftime show as he became the first Latino and Spanish-speaking artist to headline NFL's showpiece event as a solo act.

Bad Bunny turned the halftime show into a full-blown party with his high-energy showing, singing early career fan favourites like 'Tití Me Pregunto' to more recent hits like 'BAILE INoLVIDABLE'.

His setlist was designed to appeal to both long-time listeners and the massive television audience tuning into NFL's biggest night of the season.

Bad Bunny also issued a poignant message as he held a football that read 'Together, we are America' - a reference to the second Trump administration and immigration crackdowns across the country led by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Trump watched on as Bad Bunny delivered his message, but the US president slammed the Puerto Rican star's performance in California.

Shortly after Bad Bunny finished his set, Trump raged on Truth Social, writing: "The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World."

He added: "This 'Show' is just a 'slap in the face' to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day - including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD - And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Last week, Trump suggested the halftime show headliner was one of the reasons he was staying from Super Bowl LX.

"I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible," he said of Bad Bunny and Green Day, who opened the event.

Both Bad Bunny and Green Day have been outspoken against the Trump administration’s anti-immigration crackdown.
