FIFA 21's Metacritic User Score Remains A Shocking 0.8 After Furious Fans Tanked Its Rating
FIFA 21's user Metacritic score has been tanked to a 0.8 rating after players relentlessly posted negative reviews on the aggregator website.
EA Sports' FIFA 20 managed to hit a user score of 1.6 out of 10 on Metacritic after it was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2019.
EA Sports' latest instalment in the franchise has currently received an overwhelming 1,861 user ratings, with it receiving an 'overwhelming dislike' tag on Metacritic.
Only 40 of the user reviews submitted are positive, with 15 falling into the 'mixed' category.
FIFA 21 has a staggering 964 negative user-submitted reviews, with furious players slamming the title and publisher EA Sports.
One user wrote: "Gameplay absolutely horrendous! It is an absolute joke compared to FIFA 20 (which wasn't the best). Passing is absolutely stupid (a ball goes the whole length of the field like a hot knife through butter). Defending is terrible, and even if you used [to] be an absolute wall in FIFA 20, it doesn't matter."
While another Metacritic user said: "I really loved playing FIFA in the past. Man, I'd play for months and wouldn't be bored. But now, it has turned into a toy for teenagers. It's getting worse and worse."
Someone else added: "Horrible and scripted. What a terrible game. [FIFA] has always been horrible since [FIFA] 16, and getting worse by the year."
A fourth user posted: "Arguably one of the worse sports games ever. The defending is a joke, every team you play against plays the same style of play and keeps the ball for ages and then you just counter and score. Every game finishes 4-5 or 5-3. Such a joke."
FIFA 21 was released last October for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
EA Sports' title has since launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Google Stadia.
