A video has emerged on social media showing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg taking down UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, causing fans to all make a similar point.
Earlier this month, Pereira regained his UFC title with a first-round knockout victory over Magomed Ankalaev, who had earlier defeated him by unanimous decision back in March of this year.
The Brazilian is one of the most revered fighters signed to the UFC and boasts a professional MMA record of 13-3, having previously been a world champion in kickboxing, both as a middleweight and light heavyweight under the Glory banner.
As for Zuckerberg, he is best known for founding the social media network Facebook back in 2004 and has since become chairman, CEO and controlling shareholder of its parent company Meta.
Aside from his business commitments, the 41-year-old New Yorker is an avid UFC fan and is regularly spotted watching from the side of the Octagon at events.
Not only is Zuckerberg a fan of watching MMA, but he also practices the sport, having trained with the likes of Pereira, Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski in recent years.

Speaking earlier this year, UFC president Dana White suggested that Zuckerberg could compete in the promotion’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotion.
"If Mark keeps training and competing and whatever, he could literally come here and fight in UFC BJJ, 100%,” White told TMZ in June 2025.
“Tom Hardy, Mario Lopez, and many, many other actors that are really good jiu-jitsu guys that nobody knows about. That would be absolutely awesome!"
But for now, there is no confirmed fight on the horizon for Zuckerberg, but this has not stopped him from training with elite athletes – namely, Pereira.
On Thursday, a video of the pair grappling began circulating online, which appeared to show the billionaire successfully taking down the UFC Star.
And fans were quick to offer their thoughts on social media.
One said: “Nah, dude. Black belts play with you like cat and mouse till you learn to gain positioning."
Another added: “Lmao it’s funnier because it looks like Mark actually thinks Alex is trying.”
A third claimed: “If you think he took him down, then you have no idea who Alex Pereira is.”
While a fourth commented: “We can make fun all we want, but that nerd is working harder than 99% of the keyboard warriors…”
