Alex Pereira has made a stunning revelation about his UFC contract ahead of his blockbuster fight at the White House.

Pereira returns to action at UFC Freedom 250 when he faces Ciryl Gane for the interim UFC heavyweight title.

He has the chance to become the very first fighter in UFC history to win titles in three different weight classes.

Before his clash against Gane was confirmed for the White House card, 'Poatan' was linked with a monstrous showdown against Jon Jones, who had been in talks with the UFC over a stunning comeback, having retired last year.

But Jones vs. Pereira failed to come to fruition, with the latter settling with Gane for the interim championship.

But the Brazilian remains optimistic he will face Jones and wants him next after revealing he has signed a new, eight-fight UFC deal.

On his eight-fight contract with the UFC, Pereira, who spoke through an interpreter, told Ariel Helwani: "They gave me a new contract."

He added: "I'm actually really, really happy with my new contract. I actually want to thank Mick, Hunter, and Dana White for it.

"So, this new deal that they gave to me? I don't care about letting go of the belt or anything like that. They took really good care of me. The way they gave me this last contract was so good that I let it up to them to do whatever they want. It doesn't matter."

Alex Pereira: 'I want Jon Jones next'

While Pereira is focused on the task at hand, he still has his eyes on a future bout against Jones.

He believes it will happen despite his calls for a release from the UFC.

On not fighting Jones at UFC Freedom 250, Pereira explained: "Not disappointed, but I expressed that it was a fight that I wanted. It’s a fight that [Jon] wants."

He continued: "I don’t want to get too involved because that’s between him and the organisation. I believe it will happen when I win this fight. There’s a big chance that it happens. The UFC isn’t going to release him anytime soon - so if he’s going to fight, who else is it going to be? It’s going to be against me.

"I’m focused on [Ciryl Gane] right now, and Jon Jones is [next]."
