Michael Schumacher's Former Manager Accuses His Family Of Lying

Weber claims ‘we have only heard lies’ from the family since the accident that left the F1 legend in a coma.

Michael Schumacher’s former manager has accused the Formula One legend’s family of telling ‘lies’ since the accident that nearly killed him in 2013.

Willi Weber was the racing superstar’s manager for much of his top-level driving career, but he has now fallen out with Schumacher’s family after alleging they have ‘kept [him] out’ since the skiing accident that left Michael in a coma.

Since then, Weber claims ‘we have only heard lies from them’.

Schumacher suffered a severe head injury in 2013 during a ski trip, which put him unresponsive in a coma for six months afterwards.

After that, he was taken back to his home where his condition has remained a fiercely guarded secret ever since.

Of course, that’s completely up to him and his family, but Weber admits he is ‘still angry’ that he hasn’t been let in.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "It was a huge pain for me.

“I tried hundreds of times to contact [his wife] Corinna and she didn't answer.

“I called Jean Todt to ask him if I should go to the hospital and he told me to wait – 'it’s too early'.

"I called the next day, and no one answered,

"I didn't expect behaviour like that and I'm still angry about it.

“They kept me out, telling me, 'It's too early', well, now it's too late.

“It's been nine years. Maybe they should just say it the way it is."

Weber went on to accuse the Schumacher family of lying, adding: "I could understand the situation initially as I always did everything I could for Michael to protect his private life.

“But since then, we have only heard lies from them.

“Years after the accident, I said to myself to just look out for the family as I couldn't change things.

“He was like a son to me.

“Even today it hurts me to talk about it."

Last year, a documentary made by Netflix provided a rare glimpse into Michael’s condition nowadays.

In that film, his wife Corinna said: "I just felt that he is somebody special…

“I think that he is simply very strong mentally. Extremely strong.

“He still shows me how strong he is every day."

However, the exact details of his condition are not currently known, which is – of course – completely OK.

Schumacher, despite being a figure of great public interest, is entitled to his privacy, particularly if he is still seriously unwell as a result of his injuries.

LADbible has attempted to contact the Schumacher family for a comment.
