A racing driver has been accused of raping a nurse at Michael Schumacher’s home in Gland, Switzerland.
Schumacher, a seven-time Formula One world champion, was airlifted to hospital in December 2013 after being involved in a skiing accident in the French Alps.
He was placed in a medically induced coma until June 2014, with doctors stating that the use of a helmet saved his life.
The former Ferrari driver has since been recovering at home with his family, who have decided not to release details about his condition in order to protect his privacy.

On Tuesday evening, a report from Swiss publication 24heures claimed that a man in his late thirties allegedly raped a nurse in an upstairs bedroom of the family home in 2019.
The report suggests the accused is a racing driver and a 'close friend' of Schumacher’s son, Mick.
The alleged victim, in her thirties, worked on the property and was reportedly part of the medical team providing on-site care to Schumacher. The victim is said to have filed a complaint two years after the alleged assault.

No members of the Schumacher family are implicated in the allegations.
As reported by 24heures, the nurse played pool with two colleagues and the accused on the evening of the alleged assault. The nurse began to feel unwell and her colleagues took her back to a private room reserved for staff, before deciding to carry her to bed.
It is shortly afterwards that the unnamed driver is accused of entering the room and raping her. He is accused of raping the nurse twice whilst she was in an unconscious state, as per the indictment.
A trial has been scheduled for Wednesday at 9am.

Speaking to Le Grand Recit, he said: "I would say he's not doing well, but he might be getting better because fundamentally we don't know anything. This year, he signed a helmet for a charity event.
"Was it his wife who held his hand? We don't know exactly, but it's the first time we've had a kind of positive sign, almost a sign of life."
