Christian Horner was removed from his position as team principal of Red Bull in July 2025 and has not been part of the grid since; however, there has been interest from several teams to recruit the Englishman, with one constructor reportedly having approached him recently.
The 52-year-old was pivotal to the success of Red Bull, as he helped Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen claim four World Championships apiece during his tenure as team principal.
There have been several rumours linking Horner to a project with Chinese car manufacturer BYD to create a 12th Formula One team; however, this would mean that a return to the sport would be several years away.
Yet, a fresh report from the Daily Mail has suggested that Aston Martin has made an approach for Horner to help reinvigorate the constructor.

Aston Martin have struggled this season, as they have been battling at the back of the grid against Audi and Cadillac.

Fernando Alonso has got the team’s sole point, with this coming at the Monaco Grand Prix, while his teammate’s, Lance Stroll's, best finish in the campaign was a 15th place.
The team will be particularly worried about the fact that Stroll has failed to finish five of the seven Grand Prixs, while Alonso has failed to cross the chequered line on four occasions.
This poor performance has increased pressure on the current leadership at the constructor, and this has seen, as reported by the Daily Mail, that they have approached Horner to return to the sport to help revitalise their team.
It is believed Aston Martin owner Lance Stroll has been keen on Horner and was close to making a move for him until negotiations are believed to have fallen through at the last moment.
Horner is understood to be assessing his options for a return to F1, and this makes sense if reports are to be believed regarding his severance package worth roughly £80 million.
This allows the Englishman to be patient and select the right project for him, even if he wants to complete any unfinished business he may feel that he has in the sport.
