Ryan Reynolds has teased AFC Wrexham fans with his latest social media post which includes a certain Gareth Bale.

Reynolds and fellow Hollywood star Rob McElhenney are the owners of Welsh side Wrexham, who recently sealed their return to the English Football League.

Last Saturday, Wrexham came from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against Boreham Wood to secure their place in League Two for next season.

On the back of their promotion, they have been linked with a sensational move for former Wales, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid star Bale.

The recently retired winger congratulated Wrexham after their promotion and McElhenney replied saying: “Hey Gareth Bale, let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season.”

Bale then sparked more rumours as he replied with: “Depends what course…”

Now, Reynolds has now added even more fuel to the fire by tweeting an image of Bale celebrating with a Wrexham shirt on.

Fans are now convinced that Bale will sign for the Welsh club.

One said: “It's happening isn't it? When will we see Wrexham Esports? I can't wait for that.”

Another tweeted: “Because it’s you, we’ll take this seriously.”

A third fan added: “So Bale will be playing League 2 next season and Wrexham is being promoted to League 1 by year's end.”

Someone else wrote: “Bale, Reynolds, and McElhenney. The trio you didn’t know you needed.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “It’s 100% going to happen!!”

After the match against Boreham Wood, Reynolds said: “I am not sure I can process what happened tonight. I am still a little speechless.

“[People ask] 'Why Wrexham?'. This is why Wrexham. This happening, right now, is why. Boreham Wood showed up today. They are an incredible team. They have one of the best defences in the entire league.”
