Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of the season according to one report in Spain, and that may see him return to Manchester United 11 years after leaving.

It's just over a year since Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juve but in recent times not all has been well between the five time Ballon d'Or winner and new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Spanish television pundit Eduardo Inda was speaking on 'Chiringuito De Jugones' and claimed the forward could leave if the Old Lady don't win the Champions League, saying, "Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Juventus at the end of the current season if they do not win the Champions League.

"He went to Turin to try and win the Champions League with a third different club but things are getting complicated."

As well as a lack of European success the Italian champions trying to sign Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba could lead to the 34-year-old leaving, "Juventus want to sign Pogba and Mbappe. I think it is going to be difficult for them, especially the second one," Inda said.

"Due to the salary limits, if they want to sign these players they would have to allow for Ronaldo's exit from the club so it is becoming a very likely outcome."

During his time with Real Madrid the former United winger was linked with a return to Old Trafford pretty much every summer after his arrival in 2009, including the year he left for Turin.

And, according to the Sun, United could be his destination should he leave Juve, with a return to Madrid or moves to Inter Miami, PSG and the Chinese Super League also linked.

It would certainly seem like a removal from the Red Devils' current transfer strategy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign a player in his mid 30s.

Friction between Ronaldo and Sarri came to the surface ahead of the international break. The former Chelsea boss substituted the player off in the Champions League win over Lokomotiv Moscow and league win against AC Milan.

In the latter game Real's all time top scorer was brought off after 55 minutes, with replacement Paulo Dybala scoring the winner.

The manager later said Ronaldo was carrying an injury but he managed to play both of Portugal's Euro 2020 qualifiers in the past week, scoring four goals in the process.
