Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign a player that Manchester United were also interested in.
So far this summer, the Premier League champions have spent big money to bring in players like Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
Meanwhile, the likes of Marc Guehi, Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak have also been linked with a move to Anfield.

On Friday evening, a shock update came as it has been suggested that Liverpool are closing in on another transfer.
As reported by The Times journalist Paul Joyce, who wrote on social media: "Liverpool close to signing goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on free transfer from Preston North End. Will provide cover for Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili with Jaros and Davies joining Ajax and Crawley Town on loan next season.
"Woodman meets the criteria for an Association Trained player and does not need to take one of Liverpool’s 17 non homegrown slots on the UEFA squad list."

Prior to his impending move to Anfield, Woodman was reportedly targeted by United.

The Sun reported that the Red Devils wanted to sign Woodman as their third-choice keeper but have since extended Tom Heaton's contract.
Their report stated: "Manchester United’s search for a ‘domestic’ cover goalkeeper has stretched to an England U20 World Cup hero. That's because The Red Devils are keeping a keen eye on Preston North End's Freddie Woodman.

"The 28-year-old will be one of the best free-agent stoppers around in the summer after keeping 13 clean sheets in 37 Championship appearances this season."
United went on to confirm that Heaton had signed a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
A statement on Friday read: "Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract at Manchester United.
"The Academy graduate enters into a remarkable 20th season of his professional career having made his debut at Swindon Town, while on loan from United, in 2005."
