Four things that will 'definitely' happen if Harry Kane joins Bayern Munich from Tottenham

Bayern Munich has reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Harry Kane, it has been claimed. Here are four things that will happen should the move go through.

According to the Athletic, Bayern’s £86.4million bid was accepted by Tottenham on Wednesday.

Kane must now decide whether or not he will make the move, having allegedly enjoyed life under new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou and been reportedly leaning towards staying.

The England international wants to resolve his future before Tottenham’s opening Premier League fixture at Brentford on Sunday.

Kane has only a year remaining on his contract with Tottenham, and so far Tottenham have made no progress in their attempts to tie him to new terms. Indeed, the Athletic have claimed that some of the club hierarchy are considering selling their talisman this summer rather than running the risk of losing him as a free agent next year.

Should Kane leave to Bayern here are four things that will happen.

Kane to win Bundesliga

Kane has established himself as one of the world’s best players, claiming some 307 goals and 80 assists in his 514 appearances across his career.

Such a return has seen him win three Premier League Golden Boots and a World Cup Golden Boot, while he is Tottenham and England’s record scorer.

However, the one stick to beat him with has been a conspicuous lack of silverware. Kane has never won a trophy for club or country.

This will surely change at Bayern, a club that has won the last 11 Bundesliga titles and claimed 84 trophies in its storied history.

Tottenham to miss out on Champions League

While Spurs have looked a more exciting proposition under Postecoglou in pre-season, the loss of Kane will be a significant blow on and off the pitch.

Whether he is creating or scoring, Kane has been the club’s central source of goals for almost a decade.

Spurs finished last season languishing in eighth, some 11 points adrift of the Champions League spots.

Kane’s departure coupled with the improvement of top-four rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle, suggests it would be a tall task for Spurs to break into the top-four.

Harry Kane to win Bundesliga Golden Boot

Harry Kane guarantees goals, and with a supply line that includes Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane the 30-year-old is likely to find the net a lot.

Indeed, last term Eric Choupo-Moting, an undoubtedly inferior No.9 than Kane, scored 14 goals and claimed a further two assists for Bayern.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that Kane doubles Choupo-Moting’s tally at Bayern. Considering the Bundesliga’s top scorers last term were Werder Bremen’s Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku (now of Chelsea), both with 16 goals, Kane should win the Golden Boot in Germany.

Son Heung-min to be named Tottenham captain

Kane’s departure would see Son Heung-min become Tottenham’s talisman and almost certainly their captain.

With Hugo Lloris, Tottenham’s former skipper, having also left this summer, Son has become the most likely person to inherit the armband.

The 31-year-old committed his future to Spurs earlier this summer, while he is also captain of his country, South Korea.
