A social media post regarding Florian Wirtz's potential transfer to Bayern Munich has gone viral online, and it's good news for Liverpool fans.
The summer transfer window does not open for another week, and yet Arne Slot's Liverpool have already been busy securing huge deals.
Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong is expected to be announced as the Reds first new addition in the coming days, while a deal for Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez remains in the works.

However, it has recently become clear that Frimpong's Leverkusen teammate Wirtz is Liverpool's top target for the summer, with the Reds prepared to face off competition from several of Europe's top clubs.
After Manchester City reportedly pulled out of the race, it looked like Wirtz would join either Bayern Munich or Liverpool, but a new post on social media has claimed that there is now only one club capable of signing the German international.

Throughout the Wirtz transfer saga, Bayern Munich fan account Bayern Space has claimed to have insider information regarding the details of negotiations.

It remains to be seen how reliable the account is, but if they are to believed then Liverpool are the only club with a chance of signing the 22-year-old after a breakdown in relations with Bayern.
Posting on X, they wrote: "I’m breaking my silence for this one tweet because there’s far too much misinformation circulating around Florian Wirtz, and it’s creating a wave of false hope within the Bayern fanbase that simply doesn’t reflect the reality.
"Florian Wirtz will not be joining Bayern Munich, and there is no version of events where this transfer happens anymore.
"The choice not to join Bayern has already been formally communicated to the board."

It claims that Wirtz had agreed contractual terms with Bayern in the event that he decided to join, but never expressed a firm commitment to the German champions.

However, seemingly in an attempt to lower Leverkusen's asking price, Bayern later told the media that the deal was done, frustrating Wirtz and his family.
This led them to agree to meetings with Manchester City and Liverpool, with the latter impressing Wirtz and his family after presenting Arne Slot’s tactical presentation and the club’s vision for the future.

The report continues to claim that the reason why Wirtz's decision is yet to be made public is because he agreed to wait a couple of days to allow Bayern to prepare a controlled PR rollout to 'soften the blow' of missing out on the deal.
