Tottenham Hotspur legends reveal they're all actually Manchester City fans, in hilarious advert

There would be nothing worse for Spurs fans than watching their north London rivals lift the Premier League trophy in May.

Tottenham Hotspur legends Teddy Sheringham, Glenn Hoddle and Gerry Francis have revealed their love for Manchester City, though we don't completely believe them.

In a choice between winning some minor silverware themselves or seeing Arsenal not win the Premier League this season, you'd probably find Spurs fans rather split.

Obviously the former isn't going to happen and the latter is out of their hands, with some of their fans even gutted when they defeated Manchester City earlier this year.

At that point Harry Kane became their all time top goalscorer and Pep Guardiola admitted the title race was over, no doubt leading to an existential crisis for some of those from north London.

The Gunners did slip up against Everton, Brentford and City in February but dramatic come from behind wins against Aston Villa and Bournemouth have given them a new boost.

On Sunday they beat Fulham, and then celebrated with a giant clock, and the reality of them being champions of England for the first time since 2004 draws ever closer for their rivals.

Now Sheringham, Hoddle and Francis have all revealed they've always been City fans at heart, in a brilliant advert by Paddy Power.

We get the sneaking suspicion that they've switched allegiances recently, but then their grasp of Manchester culture is pretty good.

Francis has excellent taste in both pubs and pizza in the city, picking Britons Protection as his local to get a pint, with the grade II listed building having been there since the 1800s.

It's twice been voted as the best pub in Manchester, which he obviously knows being a die hard City fan, and no doubt a lover of all things Manchester, except United.

The former Spurs manager also went for Freight Island for his favourite slice, not a bad choice at all, it's excellent, but I'd personally have it behind Nell's when it comes to New York style.

Those at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium may see the wish for City to win the title for a third season in-a-row as a great distraction for their own season.

Losses to Sheffield United and AC Milan in quick succession guaranteed yet another campaign will end without winning any silverware.

They are currently in fourth place, their minimum target for the season, but have Newcastle United and Liverpool both breathing down their necks.

The futures of Antonio Conte and Kane are still up in the air too, with the latter no doubt wondering about how Sheringham, Francis and Hoddle might have been cheering him on in a different world...
