Arsenal's clock photo is part of a tactic for away games, as they chase the Premier League title

Arsenal's clock photo is part of a tactic for away games, as they chase the Premier League title

The Gunners were pictured in front of a massive clock after their win over Fulham at the weekend, which restored their 15 point lead.

Arsenal players confused fans by having a picture with a giant clock face in their dressing room, following the win over Fulham, but it was all part of their process.

Those fans who 'trusted the process' when Mikel Arteta first arrived at the Emirates Stadium as manager are certainly reaping the rewards.

The Gunners beat Fulham on Sunday to re-establish their five point lead on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

'Arteta Ball' was in full flow, as they earned the three points against Marco Silva's side, who have been impressing against all expectations this season.

At the beginning of the season, the former City assistant manager's methods were being mocked, following the All or Nothing docuseries on Amazon Prime Video.

Things like playing crowd sound in training ahead of a visit to Anfield and using a lightbulb for motivation certainly looked a bit weird on our screens, especially when they didn't work last season.

However, whatever the 40-year-old has been doing during this campaign has certainly worked, and that includes the clock the team were holding on Sunday.

According to the Daily Mail, it's all part of the Gunners' attempts to turn away dressing room into somewhere that feels closer to home.

As well as the clock, which is meant to recreate the one that adorns their home stadium, they also put up squad photos and Arsenal based wall stickers inside Craven Cottage on Sunday.

It wouldn't have been too difficult to make the game seem like a home one last weekend, considering it was pretty local, being a London derby.

However, it's not like the league leaders are having too many problems on the road, having won 34 points in away games, only losing two matches.

It's made all the difference in the table, with Arteta's side five clear of Guardiola's men overall and seven clear when it comes to away form.

Interestingly they do have to travel to the Etihad Stadium next month, in what could well end up being the title decider, even if Arsenal can currently cope with losing that match and still go on to win the title.

Trips to face Liverpool and Newcastle United are likely to be their other tricky trips before the end of their season, and the clock will surely be coming on of their final five away games.
