A 10-year-old boy from China has broken the Guinness World Record for the most football touches with alternating feet in one hour – and it's going to take a serious contender to match his remarkable feat.

Tang Jinfan, from Shenzhen, was introduced to the beautiful game at primary school.

He quickly impressed coach Lin Xiaozhong, who spotted his potential when he started juggling the ball over a thousand times with both feet.

In fact, in September last year, Tang had already achieved 7,056 consecutive juggles with his left and right feet within 50 minutes.

Xiaozhong soon advised the youngster to go for a Guinness World Record and after hours of training, he managed to juggle a football with his feet 8,147 times to earn the achievement.

"I'm so happy to set the record," Tang told the GWR website. "I told the principal, Coach Lin, homeroom teacher, subject teachers, friends, and my soccer club. Everyone wants to see my record certificate."

The youngster has now set his sights on becoming a professional footballer. But before that, he wants to attend Shenzhen University in China.

"Soccer has allowed me to make more good friends," he said in the interview. "I like to be in a team where we can compete with each other and trust each other.

"Now I know that the winner will not be decided until the final whistle is blown on the field, and any outcome can be reversed. Therefore, everyone must persist until the last second of the game and never give up."

So what advice does he have for those who want to start playing football?

"Boldly ask others for help, whether it's the coach or teammates," Tang says. "Don't get upset by temporary setbacks. Communicate with others, maintain a positive attitude, and believe in yourself."

On the topic of football and Guinness World Records, Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe holds the world record for the fastest clearing of a Hungry Hungry Hippos board [17.36 seconds].

GWR official adjudicator Adam Brown presented Tuanzebe with his certificate during United's 2018 tour of the United States.

"We have had a great day adjudicating a range of record attempts with the Manchester United Football team as part of their collaboration with Guinness World Records," Brown said.

"Axel Tuanzebe, was the bigger winner of the day and bagged himself the record for Fastest time to clear a game of hungry hippos in a time of 17.36 seconds, beating competition from his fellow team mates."
